may be retracted or disavowed by the author (or occasionally, by the
author’s institutional sponsor, editor or publishers) because of scientific
misconduct or the conviction that the results reported can’t be replicated.
NLM links the retraction notice with the citation to the original
article by inserting the notice“Retracted by”and the reference to
the retraction notice following the title in the citation to the original
article. Users can identify retraction notices by searching using
the publication type heading Retraction of publication (PT) and retracted
publications using the heading -------Since NLM’s retraction policy
begin in 1984, 141 articles cited in MEDLINE between 1966 and 1992
have been retracted. |
