   Applied Writing
   1) Read the following three samples of weather report and learn to write your own.
   Sample 1
   A weather report:
   It’s hot and sunny in Miami today, with the temperature of about 90 °F. It’s going to be cloudy and cool tomorrow, about 70 °F.
   Sample 2
   Here is the weather forecast:
   Tomorrow it’s going to be fair in New York; the temperature will be about 15 ℃. In Madrid it is going to rain and it will be 20 ℃. The weather in Moscow is going to be cloudy; the temperature will be about 3 ℃. London will be 10 ℃ and wet. Zurich will be sunny and cold; the temperature is going to be 0 ℃.
   2) Write a weather report in English according to the information given in Chinese.
市区天气：
   今天多云转少云，北风5~6级减弱到4~5级，最高气温1℃, 最低气温-4℃。预计大连地区明后两天少云，风力不大，气温变化不大。
   Sentence Writing
   1.Simple Past(一般过去时态)
   1)过去时态的基本用法：
   He went to Europe three years ago.
   She often came to see us when she was here.
   2)过去时态的其他用法，写作中要特别注意学习使用。
   A．在虚拟语气中使用一般过去时态，表示不真实的假设。
   If I were you, I would go immediately.
   I would rather you sent out this letter right away.
   B．情态动词的过去式有时不表示过去，而表示一种婉转语气。
   Could you open the window for me, please?
   Would you like some apples?
   Simple past tense
   The simple past tense is used to prefer to a past action that does not continue
   一般过去时用法：
   表示过去某个时间发生的动作或状态。
   My father was at home last night.
   表示过去经常或反复发生的动作。
   He always went to work by bus last year.
   规则动词
   look ——looked play——played
   live——lived hope——hoped
   stop——stopped trip——tripped
   study——studied worry——worried
   不规则动词
   come---came see------saw buy-----bought fall------fell
   go---wet take—took give—gave tell--told
   say—said put—put sit—sat meet--met

   常用时间状语
   Yesterday/ last week/ three days ago/ in 2000
   Make a sentence with the words given.
   have a meeting, yesterday We had a meeting yesterday.
   give a concert, last month Jay gave a concert last month.
   join WTO , in 2001 China joined WTO in 2001.
   visit Canada,last Thursday He visited Canada last Thursday.
   die , in America, February 11 She died in America on February 11.
   get married , June7 ,2011 They got married on June 7, 2011.
   divorce in 2011 They divorced in 2011.
   Translate the sentences into Chinese
   1.Last week, I visited the East Lake with my parents and we had a great time.

   2.Yesterday evening, I came to your house to see you, but you weren’t in/ at home
