    Para. 7 I bring this all up because now Microsoft has a new version out, Windows XP, which according to everybody is the “most reliable Windows ever.” To me, this is like saying that asparagus is “the best vegetable ever.” But still, I am tempted. “Maybe this will be the one,” I say to Buddy, as the two of us wait for the disks to be scanned.

    tempt
    vt. （1）劝诱（某人）做坏事或蠢事，勾引
    （tempt...into something/tempt...into doing
    something）
    e.g.
    a. Nothing could tempt him into such a course.

    b. He was tempted into doing a false step.
    他被引诱做了一件傻事。
    tempt
    （2）吸引，诱使，诱导 （tempt ... to do）
    e.g.
    a. She tempted the child to have a little more soup.
    她诱使那个孩子多喝一点汤。
    b. Can I tempt you to another bottle of beer?
