    Para. 1b They are also less likely than women to experience discrimination and harassment because of their gender. In general, both males and females see more advantages in being male than being female. However, men do experience some disadvantages throughout their lifetimes.

    discrimination

    discriminate
    vt.& vi. 歧视;区别;辨出

    歧视外族人是不公正的,也是违法的。

    harassment
    n. 骚扰,折磨
    e.g.
    a. She often got telephone harassment at night these days.
    这些天她经常在夜晚受到电话骚扰。
    b. Monroe complains too about her early adolescent experiences of sexual harassment.
    梦露对自己少女时期经历的性骚扰耿耿于怀。

    harass
    vt. 扰乱,骚扰;使烦扰;反复袭击
    If someone harasses you, they trouble or annoy you, for example by attacking you repeatedly or by causing you as many problems as they can.
    a. We are almost routinely harassed by the police. 警方几乎隔三差五地就找我们的麻烦。
    b. Our mission is to harass the landing of the main Japanese expeditionary force.
    我们的任务是骚乱日本远征军主力的登陆。

    do (did, does) 用在另一个动词前,在句中起强调作用,表示“确实、的确”之意。
    e.g.
    a. Do be careful, please. 请一定小心。

    b. I do hope that you’ll stay for lunch.
    我确实很希望你能留下来用午餐。
    c. I did go there last night, but she wasn’t in.
    我昨晚确实去过那儿,可她不在家。
