treasure-trove: n. “贵重的发现(物)”,句中是单位词(unit noun),用作隐语(metaphor),
如:

pinch: vt. 本文为(口语)偷,骗取,据此可以大概猜出attribution的含义:
“(古)职权,权限”。
attribution还是attribute的名词形式,所以又可以解释为“归因”。
e.g.
He was said to have caused the accident, but the attribution proved to be wrong.
据说那起事故是他引起的,但该指责证实是错的。
3. “There’s a cowboy feeling about the Internet that the information is out there for everybody to use as they see fit,” says Michele Goldfarb, director of the Office of Student Conduct at the University of Pennsylvania.

cowboy:n. “牛仔”,在此可意译为“无赖”。
conduct:v. & n. 多义词,通常用作动词,重音在第二个音节: 表示perform, do, carry out,
如:conduct an operation/a survey/an experiment/an inquiry本句中是不可数名词,重音在第一音节,表示the way someone behaves “品行,操守”,
如:
a man of good conduct品行端正的人;
the rules of conduct行为准则;
shameful conduct可耻的行为。
同一单词常因词性不同而重读音节也不同,本课这样的词还有: survey, suspect。

In a composition class, University of Texas instructor Sharan Daniel asked students to write an evaluative argument, which could include reviewing a contemporary film. One student chose a Bruce Willis movie.

plagiarism

e.g.
When you take stuff from one writer, it's plagiarism; but when you take it from many writer, it's research.
从一个作者(的作品)摘录材料是抄袭,但如取自多数作者之时,则属研究。
句中in style 插入was different from中间, 是插入成分。为了寻求句子结构平衡,有时一些修饰附加词语会强行插入到原应紧密连接的成分中。
