Now
115 ports located in various places
(including airports, harbors, border railway stations and passes)
have been opened to the outside, every port has a Frontier Defense
Inspection Station. Frontier
Defense Inspection Stations are an examination and administration
organ for border entry and exit. Their tasks are to safeguard the
sovereignty of the People¡¯s Republic of China, maintain its security
and public order, facilitate international exchange, and examine and
administer passports, certificates and means of transport of all persons
who enter or leave the country. Aliens
should apply for visa from Chinese diplomatic missions, consular offices
or other resident agencies abroad authorized by the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs. On arrival at a Chinese port, aliens should accept inspection
by a frontier defense inspection station, fill out entry (departure)
cards and hand them in with their passports to the frontier defense
inspectors for examination. Aliens
should present their valid passports and departure cards to frontier
inspector for examination.
Aliens who hold residence certificates issued by the Chinese Government
and who are not to return, should turn in the residence certificates.
The
competent authorities of the Chinese Government will take corresponding
measures contingent on the circumstances. |
