Hotel is a temporary home for people who are
traveling. Generally speaking, hotels can be
classified into 4 categories according to the
variation of their clientele .The first is the
commercial hotel, which provides
accommodation to people who mainly travel on
business. Many city hotels and diversely located motels fall into this group
.The second is the
resort hotel, which provides recreational
facilities to tourists who travel for
enjoyment .The third is the convention hotel
which aims its services largely at the
convention trade .The fourth is the resident
hotel, which caters to people who do not want
to keep house themselves and rent
accommodations on a seasonal basis or even
permanently. No firm distinction exists between
the different kinds of hotels. One hotel may
offer all kinds of service mentioned above.
As you travel about, you will have to
make hotel reservation. There are
various services to help you.Government tourist offices will often give you lists of hotels with their price ranges.
It’s helpful
to collect some of these lists and bring
them with you on your trip. At certain
train stations(mainly in Europe), they
maintain“hotel desks”where people at
the desk will ask how much you want to
pay and what section of the city you
prefer.
