dull:
(1) (adj.) not clear or bright 不清楚的;不鲜明的
1.The dull day makes people depressed. 阴天给人压抑的感觉。
2.He is dull of hearing.他的耳朵有点聋。
(2)slow in understanding 头脑迟钝的;蠢笨的
1.He is a dull person. 他这个人很笨。
2.The boy gave a dull response to what he is required. 这孩子的反应总是很迟钝。
(3)monotonous;uninteresting 单调的;无趣味的;枯燥的
1.I can not bear the dull film. 我无法忍受这么无聊的电影。
2.This is such a dull book. 这本书真是太枯燥了。

resolution:
(n.) quality of being resolute 坚决;刚毅

(2)determination 决心;决心要做的事
1.The boy made good resolutions. 这孩子下定决心做好事。

残存;生命较…长;经历…后仍然活着

confine:

(2)to keep shut up 关起来;禁闭
1.The bird is confined in the cage. 这只鸟被关在笼子里。

tedious: (adj.) tiresome;wearying;uninteresting
沉闷的;厌烦的;乏味的
1.This is a very tedious task. 这项任务非常乏味。
