according
to Webster¡¯s international Dictionary (1961), means ¡°a journey in
which one returns to the starting point; a circular trip usually
for business, pleasure or education during which various places
are visited and for which an itinerary is usually planned¡±.
WTO endorsed the following statement: ¡°Tourism comprises the activities
of persons traveling to and staying in places outside their usual
environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure,
business and other purposes.¡±
As
tourism is the movement of people, it is necessary to define this
major component of tourism---the tourist---before producing a definition
for tourism.
Because
it can bring much profit. so it is a profitable industry.
There
seems to be room for improvement if one compares this definition
with the earlier definition. Perhaps this leaves us a chance to
use the definitions mentioned above and reword them
