Meaning: She suddenly thought of an idea.
她突然想到一个主意。
to have the honour of doing /to do sth. 有…之荣幸
1.May I have the honour of your company at dinner? 敬备菲酌,恭请光临。
2.I have the honour of knowing you. 很荣幸认识你。
She has a strong, … an eloquent objection to being what she terms ‘put upon’.
Meaning: She strongly objects to being fooled, which she refers to as 'being put upon', and she is likely to make a terrible row.
他总是对她所谓的‘被人愚弄’的事强烈地,不妨说是滔滔不绝的反对。
to have an objection to sth.:
to have a feeling of dislike/disapproval 反对;不赞成
1.He has a strong objection to what I said. 他强烈反对我的看法。
2.She has no objection to their advice. 她不反对他们的建议。
to put sb. on : to deceive sb. 欺骗
1. They are strongly against being put upon by their friends.
他们强烈反对被朋友欺骗。
2. He means to put you on. Don’t trust him. 他想欺骗你,别信他。

1.Don’t trust him. He usually eats his words. 别信他,他这人总食言。
2.Eating your words makes a bad habit. 食言可不是个好习惯。
to have a word with sb.: to talk with sb. 与某人谈话
1.Please come to my office. I have a word with you.
请到办公室来一下。我有话和你谈。
2.The boss had a word with his secretary about the contract.
老板和他的秘书在谈合同的事。
to have words with sb.: to quarrel with sb. 与某人争吵
1.Last week he had words with his wife. 上周他和妻子吵架了。
2.It’s worthless to have words with him. 和他这样的人吵架不值。
