			account (v) 1) account: regard sb/sth as; consider 将（某人、某事）看作；视为 1. He was accounted a wise man. 他被认为是一个很聪明的人。 2. He accounted himself lucky to be alive. 他活下来了感到自己很幸运。 2) account for: be the explanation of sth. 作某事物的解释；解释某事物的原因 1. Two things account for its occurrence. 发生这件事的原因有两个。 2. The police tried to account for the fact. 警察试图解释这血迹是怎么来的。 scope of their operations: Meaning: the area within which the business is done. 经营规模 establish (v) : set up 建立 Comparing the following words: establish, found, organize, set, settle establish(v): set sth up on a firm or permanent basis 表示不仅打下基础，而且持续发展、生存、强调稳定性、不可动摇，而不是置于某一地方、状态、位置的动作。 1. This company is established in 1861. 那家公司成立于1861年。 2. He tries to establish a close relationship with that company. 他尽可能地与那家公司建立起密切的关系。 found (v): begin to build sth; establish 表示采取最初的步骤、措施、将需要的食物发展起来，常常通过提供必要的资金。 1. The ancient Romans founded colonies throughout Europe. 古罗马人在整个欧洲建立了殖民地。 2. This settlement was founded in 1890. 该居民点建立于1890。 organize (v) : arrange sth/sb. into working order 表示采取步骤建立一个组织或系统，且使之正常运作。 1. I must try to organize my life a bit better. 我必须努力把我的生活安排得更有条理。 2. She loves to organize people. 她喜欢做组织工作。 set (v): establish sth 在这几个词里含义最广，有时表示将某物置于或固定在某一特定位置；有时表示设立一些限制；有时表示在某一工作、情形中受命安排某事或处置某物；偶尔也表示某人将精力、注意力集中到指定的物体上。 1. We set them to chop wood in the garden. 我们让他们在花园里劈木头。 2. She set food and drink before the travelers. 她把食物和饮料放在旅客面前。 settle (v): make sb/sth in a place 更多的表示将某人或某物安置于某一地方，或某一稳定、 休闲的状态。 1. He settled back in his chair and closed his eyes. 他安坐在椅子上闭目养神 2. After years of travel, we decided to settle here. 我们旅行多年后决定在这安家。
