原形 go on (with) “ 接着讲,继续说下去 ”
同义短语:to continue talking, esp. after stopping or in order to pass to a new subject.
1. Go on, I’m listening. 说下去吧,我在听着呢。
2. He paused for a sip of coffee, then went on with his story.
他停下来喝了一小口咖啡, 然后继续讲他的故事。
it is not necessary to know the language
句型:it is + 形容词 + 动词不定式(或 that 从句) 动词不定式和 that 从句做句子的真正主语。
1. It is important to help him. 帮助他是十分重要的。
2. It was clear that they had no desire for peace. 很清楚他们没有和平的诚意。
shivered (v.) 使(发抖),使(打颤)
Comparing the following worlds:
shake, tremble, shiver, quiver, shudder
这几个词都有动词,都有“震动,颤动”的意思。
shake 是最普通的用语,既可用于人也可用于物。用于人时一般指由于激动、寒冷、惧怕引起的全身或局部的颤动。
1. She was shaking with cold. 她冷得直打颤。
2. His hands shook a little as he wrote.他写字时手有些发抖
tremble 指人体由于盛怒、恐惧、寒冷或多或少疲劳而引起的无法克制的轻微而迅速的抖动。
1. Her voice trembled with anger. 她的声音因愤怒而颤抖。
2. He trembled with fear when he saw the wolf. 他看见狼时,吓得发抖。
shiver 主要指由于寒冷、恐惧而引起的肌肉的短暂、迅速的颤抖.
1. She came into the house snow-covered and shivering.
她走进房间,满身是雪,冷得直发抖.
2. The enemy must be shivering in their shoes.
敌人一定吓得浑身发抖.
quiver 指人由于恐惧,强烈感情的抑制而引起的嘴唇,声音等身体局部的抖动,但这种抖动往往是轻微,快速,连续不断的,甚至几乎难于觉察.有时也可指树叶,昆虫,云雀等的翅膀抖动.
1. She quivered at the sound.她听到那声音而发抖.
2. The leaves quiver in the breeze. 树叶在微风中颤抖.
shudder 常指由于恐惧,厌恶而引起的全身颤抖,动作多为突然, 猛烈而短暂.
1. He shuddered at the sight of blood. 他见到血就毛骨悚然.
2. People shudder because of fear, cold or disgust. 人们因恐惧, 寒冷或厌恶而颤抖.
break out “ 突然发生,爆发 ”
同义短语:to begin suddenly and often violently
1. The fire must have broken out after the staff had gone home.
这场火一定是在工作人员回家后烧起来的。
2. The sun broke out. 太阳破云而出。
He wanted to share with us. 他想和我们分享。
to share (with ,among, between) “ 共有,公用,参与 ”
同义短语:To have, use, pay (something) with others or among a group.
1. I have to share the bathroom with others.
我只得和别人公用洗澡间。
2. We all share (in) the responsibility for these terrible events.
对这些可怕的事件,我们都负有责任。
apart from “ 除… 之外;此外 ”
同义短语:without considering, except for, as well as
It is a good piece of work, apart from a few slight faults.
除了一些小缺点外,这不失为一件好作品。
