Ⅰ省略句（Elliptical Sentences）
d. —Will you join us? —你愿同我们一道去吗？
—I should love to. —我愿意。
e. —Are you tired?—你累吗？
—Not very.—不太累。
f. —Have you spoken to him?—你给他讲了吗？
—Not yet.—还没有。
(2) a. — It looks like a shower.—看起来要下一阵雨了。
— Yes, somewhat.—是的，有点像。
b. —I imagine this is a very old buildng.—我看这是一个古老的建筑物。
—Very likely. —很可能。
c. —I hope I am not disturbing you too much.—希望我这样不会过分打扰你。
—Certainly not.—当然不会。
d. —He won’t come.—他不肯来。
—Why?—为什么？
e. —The play was very touching.—这个剧很动人。
—Yes, and very instructive too.—是的，而且很有教育意义。
f. —Tom has bought a TV-set. —汤姆买了一台电视机。
—When?—什么时候买的？
2) 另外，在陈述自己的意见(1), 提出问题或要求(2), 或是在感叹句中(3)都可以作这种省略：
(1) a. Glad to see you. 很高兴见到你。
b. Hope to hear from you soon. 希望不久能接到你的信。
c. Not feeling very well today. 今天觉得有点不舒服。
d. Not change in the plan until further notice. 在接到新的通之前计划不作更改。
e. Must have gone to the fields. 准是下地了。
f. Nice day again. 又是一个好天。
(2) a. Anybody against it? 有人反对吗？
b. Had your breakfast? 吃早饭了吗？
c. Why not? 为什么不呢？
d. What next? 下一步怎么样？
e. A pound of butter, please. 买一磅黄油。
