Cultural Background

Christmas , the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, the infant of eternal love and salvation, is on December 25. The celebration often begins on Christmas Eve, December 24. On that day , you may enjoy attending a candlelight church service, for example a service of ˇ° Lessons and Carolsˇ±, where you will hear the best known Christmas carols. That night, children hang up large stocking at the fireplace, where in the morning they find presents which their parents tell them have been left by Santa Claus.
