Living as a Navajo
A church, then , can be as little as you want it or as big as all humanity.
一座教堂可以小到微乎其微,或是大到包罗万象。
Implied meaning: for Navajos, a church does not need to be a particular place, not does a church have to have a special name such as “Christian” or “Buddhist”. For Navajos, being religious means being in harmony with nature. Every moment of experience can be sacred for the individual. Therefore, a “church”, or “holy place”, can be anything, because its definition depends on the individual.
