Discovery of a Father





To protect my mother I'd make up stories of a secret marriage that for some strange reason never got known. As though some man, say the president of a railroad company or maybe a Congressman, had married my mother, thinking his wife was dead and then it turned out she wasn’t.

为了保护我的母亲，我会编出一个秘密婚姻的故事，这桩婚事因为某种奇怪的原因而不为人知.好比有那么个男人，比方说一个铁路公司的总裁，或者兴许是一位国会议员，以为他的妻子死了，便娶了我的母亲，可后来他发现自己的妻子并没有死。
