Picnic in the Dining-Room

She handed me a typewritten list made up of twenty-four separate items, from shrimps to sugared almonds, including an order for a chicken, four sliced loaves, a half-litre of fresh cream and some Camembert,all to be delivered at the house before five 0'clock. . .

她交给我一张打好的单子，上面列出了24样东西，从小虾米一直排到糖杏仁，再加上一张订单，预订了一只鸡，四个切片面包，半升鲜奶油和一些卡门贝奶酪，这些东西要在五点之前送到家。

That still left me with plenty to carry myself, and it seemed that if only I could manage to stagger home with my load, there would be no danger of starving the next afternoon .

还有好多东西得由我自己带回来，看来只要我能设法摇摇晃晃地搬回家，第二天下午就不至于挨饿了。
