1. Why did so many Chinese emigrate to the United States? What experiences were they likely to have?

Many Chinese emigrated to the United States because of the gold rush and the belief that people could become rich overnight there. They were looked down upon and treated unfairly because of their different culture.

2. Why were early Chinese immigrants treated unfairly?

They were treated unfairly first because they were more faithful and diligent than people from other nationalities, so the boss preferred to choose them as their workers. Therefore, people from other nationalities were jealous of Chinese and shut them out of most careers. Second, because China is not a fighting nation, they dared to treat Chinese unfairly.
