Summary

This is an early scene of Peter Shaffer¡¯s Five Finger Exercise. This play has five characters: Besides Stanley, Clive, Louise, Walter, a German tutor, and the teenage daughter of the family, Pamela. This scene is about the relationship between father and son. Father and son always had different opinions on what they were talking about. Father was practical and conservative. Son was concerned about his own ideas, and did not want to obey the rules made by others.
